Over the weekend, Warner Bros. treated us with more pics from Matt Reeves’ The Batman, including new looks at Paul Danos’ Riddler and Colin Farrell’s Penguin.
In this version of the iconic Dark Knight villains, the Riddler looks straight up like the Zodiac killer. While his look is vastly different from a lot of adaptations of the popular comic character, a lot of potential can be had here for Danos’ character.
The Penguin looks a little more like his comic counterpart, donning the classic purple suit and looking just as snide as you would expect from the gentlemanly criminal.
In addition to the new looks at these villains, WB also shared looks at more screen grabs and set photos, giving us teases into the good guys at Gotham City, including Robert Pattinson’s Batman meeting Zoë Kravitz’s Catwoman, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, and even a shot of Director Matt Reeves and Pattinson discussing direction.
A synopsis for The Batman reads: “Two years of stalking the streets as the Batman (Robert Pattinson), striking fear into the hearts of the criminals, has led Bruce Wayne deep into the shadows of Gotham City. With only a few trusted allies – Alfred Pennyworth (Andy Serkis), Lt. James Gordon (Jeffrey Wright) – amongst the city’s corrupt network of officials and high-profile figures, the lone vigilante has established himself as the sole embodiment of vengeance amongst his fellow citizens.”
Recently, Reeves revealed that his Bruce Wayne was inspired by Kurt Cobain, as opposed to more tough guy playboy types.
The Batman is set to be released in cinemas on March 4 this year.
