Star of ‘The Batman,’ Robert Pattinson, details what villains he wants to face next and how they would work in a potential sequel.

March 4th, 2022 will mark a new era in the legacy of Batman, as director Matt Reeves and Warner Bros. are set to bring a whole new approach to the big screen in regards to Gotham City and the Batman mythos as a whole. Reeves looks to deliver inspired by noir films and play more on the detective aspect of Batman, as Pattinson shifted Batman’s gears to bring out a hyper-violent and troubled side of the caped-crusader.

Pattinson’s portrayal can already be confirmed from what we’ve seen of Batman in the trailers leading up to the movie’s release, as we’ve seen him dealing out critical damage to street levels thugs whom we know frighteningly little about. This excited new portrayal of Batman as a damaged person addicting to vengeance has Pattinson excited, almost giddy, at the possibilities of the character in potential sequels.

There has been no word from WB on any sequels but that doesn’t stop Pattinson from explaining who he would like to face off against in an interview with Den of Geek.

Pattinson’s Rogues

“I’d love to do something like Court of Owls,” Pattinson said, referring to the 2011 DC Comics horror story about a hidden society secretly ruling over Gotham’s coming-and-goings from an underground labyrinth, which they had done for centuries.

The immediately iconic storyline was created by the duo Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo, who introduced a new era of Batman stories, taking Bruce Wayne to the darkest corners of Gotham. The story introduces certain elements of horror that Robert Pattinson feels The Batman already leans into that future installments could borrow further, “There are elements which are kind of horror and I think it really feels quite new for Batman.”

The other villain who Pattinson finds particular interest in is Calendar Man, a serial killer with an obsession on tying his crimes to particular dates and holidays that is reminiscent of real life sociopaths such as the Zodiac Killer.
