Comedy fans will be in for a chuckle as popular Canadian standup comedian Russell Peters is heading to Australia next month as part of his all-new world tour.

The first part of Peters’ tour kicked off in 2021 and the tour will be headed to Australia in March 2023 with shows in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth from Monday, March 6th until Tuesday, March 14th, 2023.

“I was supposed to start this tour in 2020, but then, I’m not sure if you guys heard, but something happened…”, Peters’ said of the the tour.

Peters has been touring the US over the last year and has received rave reviews for his hilarious shows that take on cancel culture, aging and the current state of the world.

Russell Peters was recently named as one of Rolling Stone’s 50 Best Comics of All Time. At just nineteen years old, Russell Peters started performing standup comedy at open mics in his hometown of Toronto. For the next fifteen years, he honed his craft at comedy clubs across Canada and the UK, until he gained critical and global recognition with his CTVComedy Now! special in 2004.

His fame soon skyrocketed, and he became the first comedian to sellout Torontos Air Canada Centre in 2007. Since then, Peters has gone on to set attendance records at venues from Madison Square Garden to The Sydney Opera House to Londons O2 Arena where he broke the UK attendance record for highest number of tickets sold for an individual comedy show. His subsequent tours were captured in his successful specials broadcast on Showtime and Comedy Central, for which he has won numerous awards including Geminis, Peabodys, Emmys, and Canadian Screen Awards.

More recently, Peters became the first comedian to create a Netflix Original Comedy Special, and his TV series The Indian Detective set a Canadian viewership record for Bell Media/CTV in 2017. He has also started his own podcast, Culturally Cancelled with Russell Peters on iHeart Media / Cloud 10, and is currently developing a TV series based on his childhood in Canada in the 1980s, as well as executive producing the TV series Late Bloomer with YouTube sensation Jus Reign. Later this year, Peters will be seen in the feature film, Clifford The Big Red Dog for Paramount Pictures.
