If Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie starring together in Greta Gerwig’s Barbie wasn’t spectacular enough, it seems like the pair could also be reuniting for an Ocean’s 11 prequel.
The internet hasn’t been able to handle the actor’s being in the upcoming Barbie film; every wild shriek from Gosling and every eye-popping outfit of Robbie’s has sparked ecstatic delight on social media. Seeing them play Ken and Barbie, clearly, cannot come soon enough.
As Puck News reports, they could be set to star in another film together. Gosling is supposedly in talks to join Robbie in the new Ocean’s 11 prequel which is in the works at Warner Bros.. The production company have high hopes for the prequel, viewing it as a theatrical tentpole, so it probably helps having talent such as Gosling and Robbie attached to the project.
Robbie was revealed to be in the prequel earlier this year, with Jay Roach attached to direct. Roach previously directed the Aussie in 2019’s Bombshell, which focused on the women at Fox News who set out to expose CEO Roger Ailes for sexual harassment, and Robbie earned an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her performance.
If it all comes together, this will be the fifth film in the Ocean’s rebooted franchise. While the initial trilogy – based around superstar leading men like George Clooney and Brad Pitt – was hugely successful, the 2018 spinoff Ocean’s 8 wasn’t so well-received.
Despite having the iconic Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, and RIHANNA in the ensemble cast, the all-female crew of thieves didn’t connect with audiences.
