Arnott’s could be set to release a new Scones & Cream Tim Tam flavour inspired by recently trolling of UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
ICYMI: Australia and the UK recently kicked off a free trade agreement, and Johnson celebrated the news by telling the world of his love for Tim Tams.
“I want a world in which we send you Marmite, you send us Vegemite, we send you Penguins and you send us, with reduced tariffs, these wonderful Arnott’s Tim Tams,” he said. “How long can the British people be deprived of the opportunity to have Arnott’s Tim Tams at a reasonable price?”
Arnotts responded in classic Aussie larrikin fashion, posting an image of four new flavours of Tim Tam “inspired by British cuisine”. They were bangers & mash, scotch egg, fish & chips and scones & cream.
The first three sound absolutely rank, but now it seems Arnott’s might be considering releasing the fourth option; Scones & Cream, for real!
Channel 7’s Weekend Sunrise team were gifted with a prototype for the biscuits, and the whole team lauded the new flavour as being seriously good.
“That’s good,” said Dee Madigan. “So good… it’s like an Iced Vovo,” agreed Monique Wright.
Meanwhile Matt Doran predicted, “there’s a future in this [flavour]”.
While there’s been no announcement from Arnott’s as to whether the Scones & Cream Tim Tam might grace our supermarket shelves just yet, we are preparing our stomach’s for the release of a different new flavour.
Back in May, Arnott’s opened voting to the public as to which new flavour they wanted to see on shelves next. The options were Double Choc Caramel Cream or Coconut Cream.
The result was a resounding victory for Double Choc Caramel Cream, which received 63% of the vote.
The new flavour will hit Coles shelves in just a couple of days, from June 31st!
