Earlier this month, good samaritans rescued an “exotic”, vivacious orange bird was rescued from the A41 in The UK. The bird in question was taken directly to Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital.

The hospital were soon to uncover that the exotic bird was not exotic at all. Rather a common seagull that had got themselves into a spicy situation. “He had somehow gotten himself covered in curry or turmeric!” the hospital explained in a Facebook post. “It was all over his feathers, preventing him from flying properly. We have no idea how he got into this predicament but thankfully, apart from the vibrant colour and pungent smell, he was healthy.”

The bird has since been named Vinny, after vindaloo curry. He has since received a luxury scrubbing down from hospital staff members. It is expected that he will be released into the wild soon.

Why Vinny decided to cover himself in turmeric remains a mystery. Perhaps he had a penchant for reading Goop and was interested in discovering the immense benefits of turmeric. Maybe we have a Ratatouille tale on our hands; a story of a lowly seagull who dreams of owning the finest fish and chip shop in the parish of Haddenham. We’ll never know what Vinny’s dreams were, but we’re so glad that he exists.
