Seth Rogen is calling on fans to stay inside and smoke weed rather than risk contracting COVID-19 by partying during the pandemic.

After John Horgan, the Premier of British Columbia, Canada, enlisted the help of Canadian actors Rogen and Ryan Reynolds in encouraging young people to take the pandemic seriously, the Pineapple Express star took to Twitter to encourage youths to stay inside amid the pandemic.

“People of British Columbia! Please do not go out to parties and BBQs and other large gatherings!” Rogen said. “The COVID is still out there! It’s more fun to hang out alone and smoke weed and watch movies and TV shows anyway! Do that instead! Thank you!”

Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds also penned a message to the people of British Columbia via a video response.

“Oh, hey, John Horgan! Ryan Reynolds here. I got your message about the thing,” Reynolds said in a video response to Horgan’s tweet. “I’m not sure it’s a great idea, frankly. People, I don’t think they want medical advice from guys like me. No, sir. Unless it’s plastic surgery, which a lot of people don’t know this, but I used to be Hugh Jackman.”

He continued, “Young folk in B.C., they’re partying which is of course dangerous. They probably don’t know that thousands of young people are just getting sick from coronavirus, they’re also dying from it too.

“I hope that young people of B.C. don’t kill my mum, frankly or David Suzuki or each other,” he said. “Let’s not kill anyone, I think that’s reasonable.”

On Thursday, the Premier reached out to the Hollywood heavyweights over Twitter, requesting their help in spreading the message about the dangers of defying coronavirus social distancing measures.

“I have been talking about the importance of making sure that younger demographics are hearing the message. This is a callout to Deadpool right now. Ryan we need your help up here,” Horgan said in a Twitter video. “Seth Rogen another upstanding British Columbian, we need to communicate to people who aren’t hearing us.”

According to the Provincial Health Services Authority of BC, “unsafe socialising” by locals defying social distancing guidelines has since lead to a series of community outbreaks.
