The upcoming Shane Warne biopic hasn’t gone fully to plan thanks to a sex scene gone wrong.
A miniseries on the late cricket legend is currently being made in Australia. However, the lead actors have been hospitalised due to a sex scene accident.
In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, Marny Kennedy, who plays Warne’s ex-wife Simone Callahan, revealed that she and Alex Williams, who portrays the cricketer, were rushed to hospital after filming a sex scene for the miniseries.
“We were going down a corridor and we were meant to push into the bedroom and land on the bed, but we both completely missed the bed,” Kennedy said. The actor ended up breaking her wrist, while Williams cracked his head open.
“We ended up sitting in the emergency room together, he with a bandage around his head and me with my wrist strapped,” she added.
Warnie went into production last November, with the Nine Network billing the show as the “must-see drama event of 2023”.
“Over two big nights, Warnie will pay tribute to one of the greatest Australians of all time, the Aussie larrikin who lived life to the full,” the show’s description states. “There has never been and never will be another like him. Shane Warne was an Aussie legend, a cultural icon, a cricketing genius, a charmer and a loveable rogue.

“Like all great characters, he inspired extreme reactions from people from all walks of like, in Australia and around the world.”
The two-part drama has been criticised by Warne’s daughter, Brooke, who labelled the decision to dramatise the life of her father as “beyond disrespectful.”
