It turns out some farmers on Farmer Wants a Wife are so desperate to find love that they’ve faked where they live.

As revealed by Daily Mail Australia, contestants Will Simpson and Paige Marsh other people’s farms while filming the popular Channel Seven reality show.

Viewers were told crop farmer Will owned a farm in Berriwillock, Victoria, but a portion of his journey was filmed on a farm thousands of kilometres away in New South Wales.

And Paige, a first-generation farmer, doesn’t even own a farm yet, which was confirmed by a Channel Seven spokesperson.

Farmer Wants a Wife has craftily found ways to hide the pair’s backstories, only referring to them as ‘Farmer Will’ or “Farmer Paige’ in voiceovers, rather than mentioning ‘Will’s farm’ or ‘Paige’s farm’.

The 12th season of Farmer Wants a Wife premiered on Channel Seven at the beginning of the month, with the show entering its final week with several couples still in contention.

After initially not finding romance with any of her suitors, Paige finally found a spark with Ayden. Will, meanwhile, fared much better with Jessica from the very beginning. And with Farmer Wants a Wife producing several marriages and many more babies, the show has a much better track record than other dating shows.
