Sonia Kruger has revealed that she thought she was being pranked when she received an invitation to the exclusive hotel opening that Beyonce performed at over the weekend in Dubai.

The TV host told Fitzy & Wippa that she attended the event alongside fellow Australians Scotty Cam, Rebel Wilson and Ronan Keating.

“I got the invitation to this event. I actually thought it was a prank. I didn’t think it was for real,” she told the hosts. It was like, ‘do you want to come to this amazing resort opening and watch a one hour private show with Beyonce’ And I was just like, this is a hoax. It’s a hoax. But it was for real. When she came out on that stage I think I cried. It was amazing. Because she’s kicking off her world tour.”

Kruger told the hosts that there were a lot of influencers and social media celebrities at the event, and her and Scotty Cam were questioning where they fit in.

“Scotty is really funny too, because we’re both sort of going, are we influencers? A lot of people who were there are these influencers that you don’t necessarily know. But they have like, millions of followers. You know, that’s not us. We had a great time though, I’ll tell you that much,” Kruger said.

She added, “I bumped into Ronan Keating last night which was really great because I haven’t seen Ronan since he was in Australia doing the Voice.”

The performance was Beyonce’s first in four years, and she was reportedly paid $24 million for a one-hour show at the opening of the new Atlantis The Royal Resort in Dubai.

“It was basically you know, they sent us to have a little free holiday,” she added. “[The hotel has] got 90 swimming pools. It does, some of the rooms and I’m pretty sure Beyonce’s room had a swimming pool. So yeah, it’s just enormous, but it’s really beautiful. It’s architecturally quite amazing.”

Kruger told the hosts that Beyonce brought her entire crew with her to Dubai, which was made up of 120 people.

“She took 120 people with her, her crew and I guess the only talk about her fee I think it was like 24 million US dollars 35 million Australian dollars but she’s got a huge crew and you know, she insists on of course and having all of her own sound and lighting and everything she does it all herself.”
