George Cacioppo —  a top Sony executive and the senior vice president of the team behind PlayStation – has been fired after allegedly being caught in a pedophile sting video.

A video that was uploaded to amateur pedophile sting YouTube channel People v. Preds on Dec. 3 allegedly shows Cacioppo trying to meet up with a 15-year-old boy to have sex.

“We are aware of the situation and the employee in question has been terminated from employment,” Sony said Sunday in a statement regarding Cacioppo’s dismissal to CNET.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Cacioppo has been a senior vice president of engineering at Sony for the past eight years.

The clip, which was live streamed on Dec 3rd, allegedly shows a man who is wearing a black PS5 shirt that appears to be Cacioppo, standing outside a house in San Diego. The cameraman chats to the man and refers to him as “Jeff”. After the cameraman begins to ask more questions, the man closes the door and goes inside the house.

There is a link in the People v. Preds YouTube bio, that shows a series of chat logs. These chat logs are allegedly between Cacioppo and (who he thought was) a 15-year-old boy that he met on the dating app, Grindr.

The screenshots show sexually graphic conversations that detail acts that the males planned to carry out in person. The screenshots show allege that Cacioppo said his name was”Jeff” and that he provided his address to the younger party.

People v. Preds have said that the information was sent to the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office. While Cacioppo has been dismissed from Sony, as of now, no public charges have been announced.

The video has racked up more than 250,000 views since it was streamed on Friday.
