19-year-old TikToker Sophadophaa has told her followers that she will be a contestant on this year’s season of Love Island Australia.
This morning, Sophia Begg, who goes by the handle @Sophadophaa, shared a video of her dancing with her 1.2 million TikTok followers. When one follower commented, “go on Love Island au 2023”, the influencer quickly replied, “I am”.
Though the comment was only posted three hours ago (as per IG account DutchMinty), Soph’s comments have already been flooded with fans asking about her upcoming Love Island stint.
“SHES GOING ON LOVE ISLAND !!!!!!!!!” One user commented, while another penned: “she’s going on love island I have to watch.”
A third wrote, “Omg now the search bar is Sopha dopha love island.”
However, not all of Soph’s followers are convinced, with a few suggesting that the influencer is trolling them and isn’t really going to be on the popular reality show.

“I’m dying of laughter how easy it was for her to fool everyone,” commented one follower.
Last year, Love Island was pre-recorded and filmed in August 2022 in Spain, and premiered in Australia in October 31, 2022.
While there haven’t been any public casting calls for Love Island season 5 just yet, many of the previous Islanders were actually found via social media and approached directly by producers asking them to join the show.
It’s unclear whether the upcoming season will be recorded like this year’s was. Many fans voiced their dislike of the new format, and were frustrated that a select group of ‘superfans’ got to decide the Islanders fate, rather than having the ‘dumpings’ voted by the general public, like previous seasons.
However, back in November an executive producer finally explained the very simple reason the season wasn’t aired live. During an interview on the TV Reload podcast the Supervising Executive Producer for Love Island Australia, Alex Mavroidakis explained the weather would be too cold for Islanders to film in bikinis in November.
“[There’s] so much drama, so much funny and of course, it’s all different; it’s pre-recorded,” Alex said of Love Island Australia season four.
“Which obviously it had to be because Nine wanted it on at this time of the year. If we filmed in Spain [now], we’d be wearing snow jackets instead of bikinis, so we had to pre-record it.”
