Sophie Monk has disputed rumours that the ‘geeks’ on reality show ‘Beauty and the Geek’ are actors.

Daily Mail shared photos of some of the shows so called ‘geeks’ Mike Gambaro, Alexander Waters and Michael Gebicki in which the men appear a lot more clean-cut than they do on the show.

Social media users also noticed the difference in appearance, with one tweeting, “You can see that some of the Geeks are good looking just change the hair and shave the beard.”

Another Twitter user wrote, “My favourite thing about Beauty and the Geek is working out which Geeks are actually actors.”

However, the show’s host Sophie Monk has said that the speculation that the geeks are actors is simply not true.

“The boys would be so flattered to hear that [people think they’re actors]. Someone even asked me if we geek them up more and I’ve watched their audition tapes, if anything they are less geeked up in the promo!” she told Now To Love.

The latest season of Beauty and the Geek premiered on channel nine last night. Speaking of the new season, Monk agreed with social media users that this year’s batch of geeks are attractive men.

“They’re just so proud of themselves. Some of them have gorgeous features that they’ve either been hiding behind a beard or hair and they don’t realise,” she shared.
“I said to one of them, ‘You could be a supermodel!’ and he goes, ‘I know, I had no idea, I look great'”.
Monk added that the men that have been cast this year are very sweet, and that she formed strong bonds with most of them.
“They come in like I’m their friend and they’re instantly vulnerable with me because they know I want the best out of all of them,” she said.
“They just come in like I’m an aunty. I do a masterclass on how to date… It’s very cute.”
