COVID-19 is a big topic and South Park will be addressing it in a very special episode.

We all expect South Park to drop some sort of timely commentary on whatever is happening in the world and COVID-19 is no different.

Having said that though, the coronavirus has been such a strange thing that South Park are dedicating an hour-long episode to the pandemic.

According to the official synopsis for this episode, it will revolve around Randy coming to terms with his role in the COVID-19 outbreak as the pandemic presents continued challenges to the folks of South Park.

Going off the trailer though, that synopsis doesn’t tell the whole story.

In a textbook case of Randy Marsh being Randy Marsh, he is using the pandemic to boost his weed sales. That’s ‘tegrity for ya.

For Kyle, Stan, Cartman and Kenny the quartet are having to adjust to the new normal of living in a COVID-19 world as they head back to school.

Unsurprisingly, Cartman and Kyle butt heads about going back to school and social distancing, with the former protesting that school is akin to “slavery.” That sure sounds familiar.

Based on first-hand accounts of how American schools has handled the COVID-19 pandemic, this is only going to end in tears for all the kids living in South Park and many laughs for us.

All in all, this is shaping up to be a classic South Park episode and fans won’t be disappointed, especially if Kenny ends up heading off to the pearly gates yet again due to the coronavirus.

As for when this hour-long will hit the airwaves, it is scheduled to drop on Wednesday, September 30th, which means we’ll get it at some point after that.

Perhaps this hour-long special is a precursor to that supposed plan to make more South Park movies.
