Get ready to head back to the ’90s once again, because the Spice Girls have announced that this new reunion of theirs is actually going to result in a number of tour dates.

The last year has been rather wild for fans of the ’90s girl group. Back in November, it was reported that the group were set to reunite in 2018 for a new album and TV special. Needless to say, fans were pretty keen to see if these reports would turn out to be accurate.

Then, back in February, we finally got the news that we’d been waiting for, with the five members announcing that there were good things to come in 2018. “The time now feels right to explore some incredible new opportunities together”, they wrote in a joint statement at the time.

However, any hopes of a world tour were soon dashed, with Victoria Beckham revealing that the group had no plans to do any sort of touring, local or international.

“I’m not going on tour,” she explained. “The girls aren’t going on tour.”

“There’s something so strong in the message of what the Spice Girls stood for,” Beckham continued. “What is that in the future? What does that look like? We were just bouncing ideas around. Brainstorming.”

However, in an interview with the American version of The Today Show, Mel B finally gave fans the news that they’ve been waiting for, explaining that there will definitely be tour dates on the horizon.

“We are touring,” explained Mel B. “I still do [love performing]. I’m the only one that keeps on saying, ‘We’re gonna be performing,’ which we are gonna be performing.”

“Finally they got it together.”

Of course, the elephant in the room was definitely Victoria Beckham’s comments that directly contradicted Mel B’s new statements. Her response was rather simple though: “She’s always bloody saying that.”

“We are touring,” she continued. “Yes, we are going to be doing performances together, for sure.”

So now’s the time to start busting out all your old Spice Girls CD (or pick them up from Kmart on the cheap while you still can) in preparation for the group’s upcoming dates. Will Australia be graced with their presence? Only time will tell, but at this stage, we’re feeling hopeful.
