Let’s face it – if you served up your mates some plain Milk Arrowroot bikkies while watching footy together, they’d probably be less than impressed. But, slap some chocolate on these bad boys, and draw a few lines, and they’re bound to think you’re a culinary genius.

Footy season is finally revving back up following coronavirus ruining absolutely every form of enjoyment we get from this grand world.

Now that you’re ready to get back in with your mates and cheer on your favourite team, why not impress them with Arnott’s latest recipe release: iced footy Milk Arrowroot biscuits.

Arnott’s has been keeping isolation interesting by releasing all sorts of recipes for us to entertain ourselves with some baking during this entire COVID-19 mess.

We’ve learned how to make Scotch Fingers and Iced Vovo from scratch, and now there’s a simple recipe out for these footy shaped bikkies, and they only involve three ingredients.

All you’ve got to do is cover some of those already aptly shaped biscuits in some chocolate, and draw on some cute lines to give it the classic football look.

Additionally, this bake off comes with a competition, meaning that both the best and the worst creations will be awarded with an ultimate Season Snack Pack chock full of Arnott’s faves.

Keen to get to baking? Keep a-scrollin’ to see the recipe, and make sure you post your creation onto Instagram with the hashtag #BakeTogether plus tag @ArnottsBiscuits to be put into the competition that closes at 5PM AEST on Thursday, June 18th.

Ingredients:

  • 1 x packet Arnott’s Milk Arrowroot biscuits
  • 200g dark chocolate melts
  • 100g white chocolate melts

Method:

  1. Line two large trays with baking paper.
  2. Place the chocolate in two medium size glass or microwave-safe bowls. Place the bowl of dark chocolate in the microwave for 20 second bursts on medium power until melted, stirring in-between each burst. Continue with the white chocolate.
  3. Spread dark chocolate over one side of biscuits. Stand until set.
  4. Spoon melted white chocolate into a piping bag or snap lock bag and snip a small hole at the end. Using the picture as a guide, ice the biscuits like a football. Stand until set.
  5. Store in an airtight container for up to three days.

Tips

  • You can swap the dark chocolate for milk chocolate for a slightly sweeter taste.
  • Want to show your team spirit? Add a few drops of coloured food dye to the white chocolate.
  • Don’t have chocolate? You can also mix icing sugar with some butter to create a different icing. This is also easy to add coloured food dye to!
  • You can even get creative with coloured sprinkles!
