Stan Lee, the illustrious writer, editor and publisher behind Marvel Comics, has passed away. He was 95.
Stan Lee was a creative mastermind who is responsible for the most enduring superhero characters history has ever seen. His career began at Marvel Comics (formerly Timely Comics) in 1939. His years in the company saw the creative juggernaut bring audiences characters like The Incredible Hulk, The Fantastic Four, Iron Man and Spiderman. His contributions to the “silver age” of comic books are unparalleled.
In a statement released, Disney chairman and CEO Bob Iger has shared “Stan Lee was as extraordinary as the characters he created. A superhero in his own right to Marvel fans around the world, Stan had the power to inspire, to entertain and to connect. The scale of his imagination was only exceeded by the size of his heart.”

Lee’s death was confirmed by the lawyer of his daughter, Kirk Schneck. Lee reportedly passed away after being taken by ambulance from his home on Monday morning to Cedar’s Sinai Medical Centre.
