A Stranger Things retro-style video game was announced yesterday at the Game Awards 2018. Matt and Ross Duffer announced the new game based off the third season of their critically acclaimed show before sharing a trailer.
The game is described as a “meticulously crafted Action Adventure RPG that pays homage to the 16-bit era” and has been developed by Bonus XP who were also responsible for the original Stranger Things game. The original retro-style game has been downloaded over 10 million times. Check out the trailer for the game below.

The game is set to follow the events of the shows highly anticipated season 3. It will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Mac, and PC, as well as a “streamlined” mobile version according to Variety.
Earlier this year a teaser trailer for the new season of the Netflix original series was released. There’s currently no set date for it’s premiere, but it looks likely that both the game and new season will be out sometime in the middle of 2019. A prequel book for the series as well as a series of comics were also recently announced. Watch the teaser for season 3 of Stranger Things below.
