Cinephiles rejoice! Sydney’s most exciting film event is back again for another year. From Wednesday 5 June to Sunday 16 June, the Sydney Film Festival will be taking over the city for 12 days and nights of dazzling premieres, talks, parties and special guests.
“The Festival is delighted to present another 12 incredible days of storytelling. Audiences will revel in inspiring features and documentaries, carefully curated from prestigious festivals around the globe including Cannes, Sundance, Toronto and the Berlinale, alongside some of Australia’s most exciting upcoming productions.” Sydney Film Festival Director Nashen Moodley shared.
The festival will screen over 250 films from all over the world. It will also play host to a public program of free and ticket talks and parties. It’s an essential event for film-fanatics.
As per usual, the festival will take place across Greater Sydney. Expect to be licking salt and butter off your fingers at the State Theatre, Event Cinemas George Street, Dendy Opera Quays, Dendy Newtown, Randwick Ritz, Hayden Orpheum Picture Palace Cremorne, Hoyts Entertainment Quarter, Art Gallery of NSW, Casula Powerhouse, the Festival Hub at Sydney Town Hall and SFF Outdoor Screen in Pitt Street Mall.
The first titles set to screen at the event will be announced on Wednesday, 3 April. We can expect the full festival program to drop in May.
2018’s instalment of the festival was its most impressive to date. So we can’t see what the programmers have in store for us this year.
