Dance promoter Picnic Touring & Events has announced that one of its upcoming venues, Marrickville Bowling Club, has cancelled all late-night events on its schedule, including music.

The statement on the Picnic Facebook page says the venue will no longer host such events due to “some council issues”. Marrickville Bowling Club had been due to host Picnic’s Saturday November 21 event featuring Mathew Jonson (pictured), Cobblestone Jazz and Palms Trax.

The Picnic announcement reads:

“It’s painful to think that we won’t get to make our Bowlo debut for the moment, and we realise this will be disappointing to you too. Nevertheless, we’ve still got three spectacular acts to bring to you, and after a frantic day or two we’ve come up with an alternative which we trust will satisfy your dancing needs.

“The trying times continue for Sydney and this has been another heavy blow, but we’re doing everything in our power to continue to bring you the best music and the best events possible. We hope you’ll be able to join the family on the 21st for an unforgettable night.”

TheMathew Jonson, Cobblestone Jazz and Palms Trax event has been moved to Bondi’s Jam Gallery, still on Saturday November 21 (and still outside the lockout zone).
