Sydney Sweeney is now jumping into the Sony Marvel-verse opposite Dakota Johnson in Madame Web after her success on Euphoria Season 2.

After a huge year for Sydney Sweeney in breakout roles in HBO’s The White Lotus and Euphoria Season 2, the 24-year-old actress is looking to continue the hot streak with a role in Sony’s Madame Web. While Sweeney has been reported to be joining the cast, we still don’t know who she’ll play.

Madame Web, penned by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, will be directed by S.J. Clarkson. Madame Web is a clairvoyant psychic in Marvel comics who started off as the elderly woman Cassandra Webb before passing her powers(and blindness) to Julia Carpenter. In the 90’s animated Spider-Man series she is known as a seamstress who pulls the strings across the spider-verse.

With Dakota Johnson playing the titular role of Madame Web, we are curious to see who Sweeney could be playing. Web is not considered a physical character due to her blindness and myasthenia gravis, so any attempt at a villain character will be an interesting tackle. Whether Sweeney will play a villain or not is yet to be seen, but there are some guesses as to who the studio cast her as.

Spider-Gwen

Spider-Gwen is Gwen Stacey with spider powers. As we got to see in Into the Spider-Verse, she’s every bit as badass as Spider-Man and would be a cool role to see Sweeney step into.

Black Cat

Black Cat, or Felicia Hardy is one of Spider-Man’s most recognizable anti-heroes and companions. Sweeney’s previous characters show she definitely has the chops to pull off someone like Black Cat.

Jessica Drew

Jessica Drew is a female clone of Peter Parker, with all of his childhood memories as well as his powers. This would be an interesting choice and is just one of many characters that could help open up a multiverse for Sony and Marvel.
