If you, like me, are a schmuck that relies on Sydney’s transport system because you failed your L’s test as a consequence of not studying the drag race section, you probably noticed that getting to work this morning was a mission.

Whilst we’re all very used to Sydney’s glorious public transport being consistently unreliable, today was particularly awful. This is all due to a rogue Honda Accord. Early this morning the car smashed through a boundary fence and destroyed a train signal box in Villawood. We’re not quite sure what his motive was, maybe it was an accident, or maybe he was taking his frustration out on this garbage public transport system with a flair for the dramatic. All we know is what the Police have to tell us in the statement below:

“Inquiries are continuing after a car destroyed a train signal box at Riverwood this morning. Police have been told a white Honda Accord hit the box at the intersection of Romilly St and Broad Arrow Rd at 1.55am. When officers from St George Police Area Command arrived on site, the driver had left the scene. The vehicle has been towed away and is being forensically examined.”

People are, naturally very angry about trains and busses stitching us up. Which I don’t really understand because nothing brings me more joy than blaming my tardiness on buses. Work ethic? never met her.
