Lifelong friends Kate Gudinski and Sophie Panton have today debuted the second season of their acclaimed podcast Talking In Common.
The podcast covers a diverse range of topics including health, wellness, culture, family, relationships and motherhood while featuring a number of high profile guests.
Last year’s 13-episode season included interviews with music industry mainstays like Missy Higgins, Clare Bowditch and Mahalia Barnes, while upcoming episodes involve the likes of Brendan Fevola and Asher Keddie.
On top of that, the podcast has partnered with health and wellness brand Swisse, with its ambassador Elsa Pataky also set to appear in a future episode.
Season two also sees the continuation of their Australian-first alignment with Auslan Stage Left, a national organisation specialising in the arts and performance interpreting.
As a result of the partnership, all Talking In Common episodes are available to the Deaf community via translated videos.
The return of the podcast comes after the unexpected death of Gudinski’s father, Aussie music industry icon Michael Gudinski.
In a statement, Gudinski and Panton revealed that the break in the recording allowed them the time to connect like they “never have before”.
“We’re so excited to be launching season 2 of our podcast. By having a break between recording due to some very unexpected circumstances we have allowed ourselves time to connect in a way we never have before and really consider the intention for season two,” they said.
They continued: “We have made time to focus and nurture some ideas and relationships and we’re so excited and humbled by the interest Swisse has shown in helping us provide access of our podcast to the deaf and hard of hearing community via our Auslan interpreted videos.”
“We really hope to learn, share and laugh our way through finding the balance of well-being through this season and continue to share the stories of some incredible people through our conversations with our guests.”
The first episode of season two, which is out now, sees Gudinski delve into how she has navigated parenting while experiencing the rollercoaster that is grief.
