Taron Edgerton recently confirmed he has met with Kevin Feige, teasing that he may be coming to the MCU as Wolverine.

In a recent video call with The New York Times, Taron Edgerton talked about his come-up in acting and his acting roles up until his newest work in Black Bird. Towards the end of the sitdown, Edgerton gave a tease about the possibility of his appearance as Wolverine in the MCU.

Edgerton hopes to take up the mantle of Logan after Jackman and even said he met with Marvel Studio execs, including the president, Kevin Feige.

“I don’t think it would be wrong to say that,” he said, laughing. “I’d be excited but I’d be apprehensive as well, because Hugh is so associated with the role that I’d wonder if it’d be very difficult for someone else to do it.”

He paused, before flashing a grin. “But hopefully if it does come around, they’ll give me a shot.”

In an interview with Alex Jones (not the InfoWars one) on The One Show earlier this year, Taron Egerton shared comments about joining the MCU, specifically as Wolverine.

“There’s no truth in it at all. There’s no truth in it. It would be, obviously, really exciting, but I don’t know.”

He was then asked if he would be interested in joining the MCU in any capacity, which he went on to liken to the Bond franchise.

“Yeah, of course. That’s like playing Bond. It would be exciting to play a role where you play to by such a huge audience. Those movies are the most watched movies in the world. It’s a great thrill and it’s a great part. But there’s no truth in it. Very flattering, though.”

Back in 2019, Edgerton was asked about joining the MCU after being informed that fans were pushing for him to fill the shoes of Wolverine. At the time it had only been two years since Hugh Jackman’s final movie as Wolverine in Logan.

“I think I love Marvel, and I love the movies, and I’d love the excuse to get in shape, and I’d love to be a part of it. I mean, whether [Wolverine’s] realistic or not – I don’t know, but I would love to,” Egerton said.

Feige also commented on what they had in store for the characters they collected in the Fox acquisition, stating they had a five-year plan in place for supes such as Wolverine. That was three years ago.

“It’ll be a while. It’s all just beginning and the five-year plan that we’ve been working on, we were working on before any of that was set,” Feige said back in April referring to the Disney Fox deal. “So really it’s much more, for us, less about specifics of when and where [the X-Men will appear] right now and more just the comfort factor and how nice it is that they’re home. That they’re all back. But it will be a very long time.”
