Contrary to expectations, the X-rated ‘fantasy suites’ on The Bachelor weren’t very popular among the contestants.

When The Bachelor announced that this season would be introducing some ‘fantasy suites’ for contestants to have overnight dates – thus indicating things potentially getting down and dirty – viewers thought they were in for a dramatic season. Alas, the idea was universally panned among contestants, it seems.

According to So Dramatic!, no contestant took up the producers on their offer of the fantasy suite. In fact, most were allegedly uncomfortable with the idea – with what the usage of the suites implied.

“Fantasy Suites got canned, it didn’t happen,” an ‘insider’ close to the show revealed to So Dramatic! “The guys opted out. They had the option but declined.”

Given the obvious reluctance from the contestants and the bachelors, the source admitted they were ‘unsure’ why the segment was being ‘hyped up’: “None of [The Bachelors] were comfortable with it.”

The cast was allegedly collectively against the idea, with one contestant reportedly opting out of going into the suite at the last minute. “One girl got invited back to the Bach pad after the third group date,” an alleged contestant said to So Dramatic!

“She had to go through a full consent screening, had to sign some documents, but then after all that, she didn’t even up going back in the end.” they revealed.

This wasn’t the unpopular experiment on the show, it seems. The infamous ‘partner-swapping’ concept – where the bachelors and the contestants could choose someone else – was also unfavourably received. According to sources who spoke to So Dramatic!, only one contestant swapped Bachelors throughout the season – which allegedly did not go down well with the producers.

“Jasmine [Absolom] swapped from Jed [McIntosh] to Thomas [Malucelli] at the third Rose Ceremony,” said source revealed. “All the girls were too scared to switch because all the guys had said earlier that they were happy with the girls they got and weren’t wanting to swap or steal.”
