The Block winners Omar and Oz had another friend bidding for their house during the finale, a source has alleged.

This season of The Block may be over but the drama most definitely is not. It seems that this season’s winners Omar and Oz had another friend bidding for their house – or so a source alleges to So Dramatic!

To recap: Omar and Oz’s luxury house was bought by millionaire and serial The Block buyer Danny Wallis for an astounding $5.6 million AUD, who won out over two other bidders.

As a result, the two walked away with a collective $1.5 million AUD in profits. Combine that with the $100,000 prize money, and they clocked in the biggest amount any winner had ever bagged on the show.

But controversy soon followed their astonishing win, as speculations of the two planting a ‘dummy’ bidder to jack up the profits started doing the rounds. The rumours caught fire when shortly after their win, said bidder – Adrian Portelli – posted a selfie with Omar and Oz, leading people to think the three were friends.

Now, another source from the show alleges that the third bidder – who competed against Portelli and Wallis – was also personally connected to Omar and Oz. Speaking to So Dramatic!, the source claimed that agent Frank Valentic – who has been a regular bidder on the show – was actually ‘bidding on behalf of another one of Omar and Oz’s mates.’

“Instead of having two friends there and it looking suss, they had one friend there and one bidding through Frank so eyebrows wouldn’t be raised,” the source claimed. “They legit rigged the auction in their favour. Genius. They played Channel Nine to a T.”

Even if the claims are true, there’s not much that can change. Or, more probably, the network ‘doesn’t care,’ as one contestant alleged.

The source added why: “They are open to it because it’s more drama and publicity for the show. They’ve literally done or said nothing so I guess that’s the way it is on the show.”
