Community is one of the most well-loved TV series of all time, but let’s be honest, it wasn’t quite the same after Donald Glover left after Season 5 to concentrate on his musical career as Childish Gambino.
Now you’ll get your chance to see Glover’s triumphant return, in a table read that will be streamed on YouTube for the whole world to enjoy. We’ve already seen the cast of Parks & Recreation reunite for a good cause, and now the cast of Community is jumping on board the reunion train.
As Variety reports, Glover will join former Community stars Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Yvette Nicole Brown, Alison Brie, Jim Rash and Ken Jeong, as well as Dan Harmon, for the table read, which will be followed by a fan Q&A.
Oh, and of course Joel McHale, who recently made headlines for hosting that bizarre Tiger King aftershow special, will reprise his fan-favourite role of Jeff Winger.
They’ll come together to read Episode 4 from Season 5 – ‘Cooperative Polygraphy’, which originally aired in January of 2014 on NBC. It was a classic ‘bottle episode’ which took place in the Greendale Community College Library.
The whole project is for a good cause, with fans set to be asked to donate to José Andrés’ World Central Kitchen and Frontline Foods, both of which are involved in COVID-19 relief efforts for frontline workers.
The brainchild of Dan Harmon, Community originally screened from 2009 to 2015, spanning six seasons. Those not returning for the reunion include Chevy Chase, who left the show on bad terms after four seasons, while it sadly doesn’t look like John Oliver will return either.

With Glover coming back, everyone better hope and pray that he and Danny Pudi reprise their classic ‘La Biblioteca’ rap. Surely that’s not too much to ask!
