After spending most of this year experiencing anxiety about the state of things, nothing feels better than seeing new businesses open in the Potts Point neighbourhood. It’s summer and it feels like we’re finally out of the woods. So to celebrate, we’re taking a look at the newest restaurant additions to Potts Point’s dining scene.
Brooklyn Crispy
Brooklyn Crispy is Potts Point’s latest New York-inspired pizza restaurant. The restaurant opened earlier this month in the gorgeous, leaf-strewn Springfield Avenue. Offering both inside and alfresco dining, it’s the perfect addition to the summer dining canon. Brooklyn Crispy caters to vegetarians, vegans and those with gluten-intolerances. Oh, they also have a pizza menu for your furry friends. The fellas smoke their own meats in house and have all the staple cocktail favourites.

Figo Restaurant & Bar
When ACME announced they’d be closing shop, it left a pig-head macaroni shaped hole in my heart. Thankfully, Figo Restaurant & Bar stepped up to the plate with their inspired-take on Italian fare. They offer an expansive wine list and a set menu worth committing a crime for. Mangia!

Bella Restaurant & Wine Bar
Another addition to the Italian dining canon with a bit of a twist, Bella caters to the pescetarian and vegetarian pallette. This isn’t the kinda Italian joint where cruelty-free clientele are forced to submit to another porcini mushroom risotto. There’s a smorgasbord of vegetarian and vegan food on offer. Chefs make the pasta fresh every day so you know you’re in for a real treat. Also, they have some of the best cannoli in the area.

Bar Sopra
The team behind La Bomba have opened up a new European-style dining spot, Bar Sopra. The Mediterranean-inspired eatery places a greater focus on drinks than its sister restaurant. Serving a collection of boutique wines from Australian and international winemakers curated by Nomad sommelier David Kalvo, as well as an array of seasonal cocktails. It’s a taste of the Eurotrip we’ve all been conned out of.

A taste of Tel Aviv on Kellet Street. Bistro Rex-graduates Nick and Kirk Mathews Bowden have attempted to encapsulate all the glamour of dining Tel Aviv’s dining scene with an opulent, 90-seat restaurant. It’s an amalgamation of Ashkenazi, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern influence. Stunning.
