Star Wars’ flagship TV series The Mandalorian is finally returning for its season 2 today, October 30th, and excitement is high.

Honestly, we’re keen to check it out purely because we’ve missed Baby Yoda (known as The Child in the show, before anyone gets irate). I mean, just look at that face.

In Australia, The Mandalorian will be streaming exclusively on Disney+. If you’re so inclined, signing up to the streaming platform costs $8.99 monthly or $89.99 for one year.

There are eight new episodes, starting weekly from today, October 30th, through to December 18th.

Disney+ is available on a wide range of compatible devices, including Apple TV, Google Chromecast, iOS and Android devices, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, as well as a range of LG, Samsung and Android Smart TVs.

In case you’re still to catch up with the first season of the show, here’s some easy details to get you up to scratch!

The Mandalorian, aka, Din Djarin, is a bounty hunter roaming the galaxy for his next paycheck (aren’t we all). He gets paid by some shady Imperials to bring in a target. When this turns out to be the ridiculously, insanely cute Baby Yoda (we know it’s The Child, chill), he just can’t bring himself to do it.

The Mandalorian and Baby Yoda stick together and are chased around the galaxy, making them the best double act since The Veronicas.

They meet new friends along the way, including Gina Carano as Cara Dune, an ex-shock trooper turned rebel, Greef Karga, the leader of the Bounty Hunters’ Guild and IG-11 (played by Carl Weathers, taking time off from getting a stew going). There’s even a robot bounty hunter voiced by the amazing Kiwi Taika Waititi.

The Mandalorian soon gets into a big fight with the Imperial client who really really wants his grubby hands on his tiny companion. Luckily, Mando wins and escapes with Baby Yoda, where he’s tasked with finding The Child’s home planet.

The Imperial client that The Mandalorian thought he had defeated, Moff Gideon, pops back up with a cool and mean-looking black lightsaber. Of course he did.

So Season 2 is destined to be packed with storylines and action, to put it mildly.
