Iconic streetwear brand Vans have unveiled their latest collection, a collaboration with The Simpsons.

It’s been thirteen years since the realms of Vans and The Simpsons have collided, and now they’re back and chicer than ever. These past few months have seen Vans unleash a series of stellar collaborations — including a collab between National Geographic on a nature-indebted line for all you David Attenborough hoes.

This all pales in comparison to the eternal glory of this latest The Simpsons drop. The brand teased the collab on social media on Friday, July 24th.

“The Simpsons x Vans is coming soon,” the tweet says. “Sign up for updates to be the first to know when it arrives at vans.com/thesimpsons.”

Vans have remained tight-lipped about the details surrounding the forthcoming collaboration. The video shared on social media featured the shows signature clouds reimagined in 8bit aesthetic. I’m praying to the high heavens for a en vogue iteration of their Sk8 hi embellished with tiny portraits of Cletus Delroy Montfort Bigglesworth Spuckler — but I’m not count all my chickens before they hatch.

The last time these two cultural touchstones met was in 2007. The sneaker company revamped their beloved Sk8-Hi, Sk8-Mid and slip-on silhouette with The Simpsons iconography. Initially the drop was flogged at the $100 mark, but you’d be lucky to find a foot vessel for under $1500 in the good year of our lord 2020.

To tide you over until you can cop this sublime capsule, why not take a moment to relish in a morsel of shitposting splendour.

Recently, a parody of the Beauty And The Beast anthem ‘Be My Guest’ was unearthed. The parody focuses on our favourite billionaire capitalist slut  Mr Burns’ collection of inappropriate and probably illegal wardrobe items made from exotic animal pelts. Lisa and Bart discover that he is about to use their puppies to make a new tuxedo through this light-hearted and catchy song. For a refresher, check it out here.

That tune will probably be stuck from here til forevermore,  but now you can fully experience this metal version. Courtesy of Ian Moir who gave Burns a new black denim vest, in replacement of his gorilla chest, with popular metal band patches all over it. Check it out here.
