Tom Gleeson has taken aim at 2Day FM radio host’s Em Rusciano’s low ratings in a new instalment of ‘Hard Chat’.

The Aussie comedian light-heartedly roasted Rusciano’s co-hosts, Grant Denyer and Ed Kavalee, blaming them for the show’s low ratings, comparing the grouping to a “dinner party no one would want to organise”.

“Maybe the problem is that you’re on air with Grant Denyer and Ed Kavalee. It’s like a dinner party that no one would organise,” said Gleeson.

“You’re right,” Rusciano replied. “But I would say I’m probably the problem because we didn’t rate last year when they weren’t there either.”

Rusciano joined in the on mocking of the low-ratings, jokingly noting the show only receives two listeners during its airtime, comparing it’s listenership to that of in-house hospital radio.

“You’re currently on breakfast radio with Grant Denyer and Ed Kavalee,” Gleeson began. “There’s three of you in the studio. Is that more than the number of listeners you have?”

“Yes, by one,” Rusciano joked back. “I know that we’re rating lower than in-house hospital radio and the station that reports the fishing channels… ”

Gleeson also pointed out Rusciano’s high number of social media followers, saying, “does that mean that even your fans can’t bear to tune in?”

Radio ratings results revealed last week saw 2Day FM leave the bottom spot of the FM breakfast ladder, with a one percentage point increase to 4.4%.
