Pop quiz; name the saddest moment on TV. If you said the ‘Jurassic Bark’ episode of Futurama, you’re not only cruel for bringing that tear-jerker up, but you’re also way off. Undoubtedly, the correct answer is the ‘Papa’s Got A Brand New Excuse’ episode from The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air.

If you’re not too well-versed on Will Smith’s Fresh Prince days, the episode sees Will’s father return after a 14-year absence, only to abandon his son once again.

While the episode was already memorable enough to begin with, its final scene is one of the best to ever air on TV, with Will Smith giving an emotional monologue that drew from his experiences with friends in similar situations.

Now, because we aren’t already sad enough in our day-to-day lives, a genius Redditor has mashed up this iconic scene with the famous music from David Lynch’s Twin Peaks.

Pairing Will Smith’s legendary speech with Angelo Badalamenti’s ‘Laura Palmer’s Theme’, the iconic clip receives an extra layer of emotion that will make even the most stone-hearted viewers weep tears of true pain and sorrow.

The most devastating part of it all though is probably how well it matches up. As the emotion builds during Uncle Phil’s interjections, the scene culminates in its emotional peak as Will hugs his uncle, letting it all out during the song’s most tender moment.

Of course, other Redditors have now begun wondering just what else could we see mashed up. Maybe Carlton could start dancing like The Man From Another Place, or maybe David Lynch and Will Smith should work on a project together, because you have to admit that would be wild.
