There are Toy Story fans, and then there are Toy Story FANS.

Mason and Morgan McGrew fall into the latter category. The two brothers have shared with the internet what they have spent the last eight years (give or take) working on: a shot for shot recreation of Toy Story 3 ‘in real life’.

Without the resources of Pixar and Walt Disney to help fuel their project, the McGrew brothers explored the process on their own. The final result being just over an hour and a half’s worth of footage.

To be honest, the precision the brothers have recreated the film with is pretty impressive. Using plastic toys, woodwork and different props, the budding filmmakers brought the original to life.

“When we saw ‘Toy Story 3’. it instantly became our favourite movie.” Morgan McGrew told Good Morning America. “We knew that we were interested in filmmaking, but at that point we really didn’t know how to explore it or what to do with it.”

“We have some of these toys from when we were kids and we wanted to see if we could recreate a scene from one of our favourite movies. It’s kind of been a snowball effect.”
