Calling all bookworms, literary fiends and librocubicultarists.

Over two consecutive nights in the first week of March, Carriageworks and the Seymour Centre will play host to four talks ahead of this year’s Sydney Writers’ Festival. And while it’s being billed as a mini-festival, the lineup is huge, as far as literature goes.

Artistic director Jemma Birrell says: “I am very excited about presenting these extraordinary international writers in March, giving our audiences a taste of the wonderful things to come at the May Festival. The events take place over two days, like a mini-festival, featuring a range of stories that are moving, informative and incredibly entertaining”.

Guests include British novelist and journalist Simon Winchester, Scottish novelist and Esquireeditor-at-large Andrew O’Hagan, world-renowned storyteller Alexander McCall Smith, and best-selling American author Elizabeth Gilbert.

The Sydney Writers’ Mini March Festival runs Thursday March 3 – Friday March 4 at Carriageworks and the Seymour Centre. The 2016Sydney Writers’ Festival will happen in May.
