Suck at small talk? Need to focus on an important email? Well, your rideshare fears are now banished with Uber launching new Quiet Mode.

Are you constantly being rated below the coveted five stars for your lack of conversation? Fear that you could be banned if your score drops too low? If so, Uber’s new Quiet Mode is set to be a revelation.

No more having to experience the dreaded small talk of the weather, how traffic is awful, or what your day has been like as Uber now has an option to pre-select a Quiet Mode before you start your journey so you can avoid the awkward conversations.

With this addition, you can virtually control your ideal ride before it even shows up to take you places. Between choosing a car with comfier seats, adjusting your desired temperature of the vehicle, and now Quiet Mode, the ideal ride from point A to point B is available at your fingertips.

You’ll also be getting a more experienced driver with the choice of Comfort rides, meaning that the driver will have completed over 500 trips with Uber. Also, each driver will have a minimum of a 4.85 star rating, meaning that you’ll only be getting rides from the companies best.

The catch? You can only experience the Quiet Mode and other perks via their Comfort rides option, meaning that it’ll cost you around 20% more to arrive at your destination. However, depending on your levels of social anxiety or need for a spare minute for emails, that 20% markup could be all worth it.

With a staggering 3.8 million Uber users across Australia, users of this rideshare service can be sure to have the best ride available with so many options available through their app.

Perhaps now, your rating will be on the upward climb, and your social anxiety (at least for rideshare) a thing of the past.
