A man who was booted from a Qantas flight in a viral video has been revealed as The Block winner Omar Slaimankhel’s brother.

The Block winner Omar Slaimankhel’s brother Zakir was kicked off of a Qantas flight for being verbally abusive towards crew members. Zakir was identified as the man in a viral Tiktok video posted in October, where a man and his family were shown being removed from a Qantas flight bound for Bali after being verbally abusive towards the staff.

According to reports, Zakir is claimed to have shouted at the staff for making ‘disrespectful’ and ‘racist’ comments which made his wife cry. “Get out of my face. Get the hell out of my face. You’re being so rude. You’re so annoying.” he’s seen saying in the footage.

Upon being warned about security, Zakir is seen rebutting: “Unless you carry my kids out, force them out. We’re not leaving. You can force my kids out, but we’re not leaving.”

Shortly after the video went viral, leading to Zakir being identified, Zakir took to Facebook to condemn the video as ‘character assassination.’

Zakir claimed that Qantas staff had neglected to bring on board his children’s pram despite being notified prior to the flight. When Zakir brought the pram in himself and asked for a place to keep it (since the plane was full), he alleged the staff member ‘sternly’ told him to find a spot himself.

Sometime later, while the plane was delayed due to technical difficulties, Zakir’s wife headed to the rear-end of the plane to change their baby’s diaper. He alleges that a staff member rudely told her to stop blocking the door, spoke to her in a ‘condescending tone,’ and yelled at her for bumping into another passenger as she was exiting the toilet.

In his post, he also claimed that Qantas staff had also made racist comments about his wife and reduced her to tears, though it’s not mentioned in the viral video.

“The behaviour of the staff members made her feel extremely humiliated and distraught. She began crying and told them that they were very rude and condescending towards her.” Zakir claimed.

“In response, they were unsympathetically dismissive of her feelings and concerns. Their treatment inflicted immense anxiety within her, she felt isolated, overwhelmed, and discriminated against.” he said.

In their own statement published in response to Zakir’s claims, Qantas denied any wrongdoing on its staff’s part.
