The long-awaited Friends reunion special is finally set to be there for you, as its premiere date has just been announced.

Friends: The Reunion will debut on US streaming service HBO Max on Thursday, May 27th. On top of this news, HBO Max has also released the first teaser trailer for the special.

The decidedly abstract trailer simply shows the six main cast members walking down the street with their backs to the camera.

Despite the teaser’s lack of detail, HBO Max has provided plenty of intel as to what exactly the special will entail.

As reported by Variety, the special will focus on Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer as they return to the show’s original soundstage at the Warner Brothers Studio lot in California.

Along with the main cast, it will also feature appearances from some of the show’s guest stars including Tom Selleck (Richard), Maggie Wheeler (Janice), Reece Witherspoon (Jill Green), Elliott Gould (Jack Geller), Christina Pickles (Judy Geller), Larry Hankin (Mr Heckles), Thomas Lennon (Joey’s hand twin) and James Michael Tyler (Gunther).

As if that wasn’t enough, a number of celebs like David Beckham, Justin Bieber, BTS, James Corden, Cindy Crawford, Cara Delevingne, Lady Gaga, Kit Harrington, Mindy Kaling and Malala Yousafzai are also set to cameo.

The announcement of the premiere date will no doubt come as a relief to many fans, given that it was originally supposed to air last year.

Originally set to film in February 2020, it was postponed until April this year due to production delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

While neither Binge nor Foxtel Australia have confirmed how Aussie fans can watch the reunion, we’re betting that where there’s a will, there’s a way.
