An opening party to celebrate Robert Owen, the winner of the Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize, will be held at Woollahra Council Chambers.
Robert Owen was selected from 700 submissions and awarded $15,000 for his innovative entry, a blue shape-shifting sculpture that he has engineered to with maginficent attention to detail.
Owen is a seasoned artist who has exhibited work extensively, both nationally and internationally, over the past fifty years.
He’s no stranger to art competitions, winning another $15,000 in a past competition for his minimalist, abstract portfolio.
The sculpture will be acquired into Council’s permanent public collection and there will be an opening night to celebrate the artist’s work.
The exhibition opens Friday October 9 at Woollahra Council Chambers.The winners of the Special Commendation, Mayor’s Award, the Highly Commended, the Viewer’s Choice awards and the Plinth Prize will be announced at the official launch event.
