Lucas Davidson’s third solo exhibitionUntitled (Flat Screens)will be showing at Dominik Mersch Gallery in May.

The exhibition features an array of dissembled and reassembled screens that the artist has found. The pieces examine and explore modern society’s obsession with screen-based technolgy and challenges the audience to view screens as devices that displace us. The sculptures are covered in exposed wires and show the screens almost inside out.

The exhibition is powerful and confronting. The pieces force themselves upon their audience, pushing them to look at the way screen-based technology influences and, in most cases, dominates their lives. It destroys the illusionary power that technology holds over us.

Untitled (Flat Screens) by Lucas Davidson will be exhibiting at the Dominik Mersch Gallery from Thursday May 7 – Saturday May 30
