It goes without saying that the Golden Gaytime is both the king and the queen of the Australian ice-cream-on-a-stick kingdom, so it’s quite surprising that it took a solid decade of extreme foodie culture before the people at Streets started to play along and roll out experimental versions of their masterpiece.
We’ve recently enjoyed the Cappuccino Buzz, Unicorn, and chocolate variations on the classic ice-cream, and the seasonally-available tub of Gaytime themed ice-cream is both a gastronomical and price-point miracle.
Plus, the ‘Rainbow’ version released in support of same sex marriage showed that the ice-cream has a social conscious – rare in a frosted treat.
The tin of Gaytime crumbs that rolled out recently seemed like it would be the undeniable hit of summer, until Streets came along and blew themselves out of the water with the Golden Gaytime Sanga – a delicious Maxibon mashup that will be ruling Summer 2017/2018.
We’re not sure when these will hit stores, so best to call up your local service station daily to inquire if they are in yet.
