I-rish I had been at the Opera House when Glen Hansard and his band The Frames cast audiences under a spell for their epic three-hour performance and undoubtedly adorable accents last year – fortunately, the Irish troubadour is set to return to the white sails on Thursday March 20 for a solo show as part of the summer Music at the House program.

Expect a magical night of storytelling, as fellow Irish singer-songwriter Lisa O’Neill warms up the audience with her poetic lyricism and melodic musings. Hansard’sDrive All NightEP, released last year, was produced by Joe Henry (Billy Bragg, Elvis Costello, Loudon Wainwright III), with a cameo from Eddie Vedder and an ardent Bruce Springsteen cover. Best of all, a potion of proceeds from each sale will be donated to Little Kids Rock, a non-profit organisation that focuses on music education in disadvantaged schools across the US.
