Now in its fourth year, the festival has a quality lineup of golden classics that incorporate British culture, humour and traditions.
The festival will open with the Australian premiere of Amma Asante’s drama A United Kingdom, which is based on the bookColour Barby Susan Williams. It comes directly from its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival and is also opening the 60th BFI London Film Festival.
The festival will close with A Monster Calls by British director J. A. Bayona, which depicts a young boy’s immersion into his fantasy monster world in order to deal with the reality of his mother’s terminal illness. I, Daniel Blake is directed by British director Ken Loach and showcasesa detailed exploration of socio-economic issues in Britain.
Other films include Trespass Against Us, Their Finest, Tommy’s Honour, Room At The Top, Highlander, The Man Who Fell From Earth, Sid And Nancy, Carry On Camping and Carry On Up The Khyber. The full program will be announced in late September.
