Adult Swim heard our cries and just confirmed that as of June 20, there will be 10 new episodes of Rick and Morty, with a new trailer.
Before you can say ‘I’m pickled Rick!’ there is a new trailer and suddenly a release date, and what are fans of Rick and Morty if not increasingly loyal? Considering they are accustomed to long waits, something must be up, right? This feels like it’s in the realm of the special sauce debacle.
But alas, the Adult Swim show returns for ten more episodes, and what’s more, they are all arriving at once. Not being drip fed to us like some pyscho from the Council of Ricks.
The first Season 5 trailer released almost two months ago featured Ocean Men and a Blade Universe, and attempted the explain the Season 4 finale in”Star Mort: Rickturn of the Jerri.” It was all space-set warfare, and spoilers alert, Beth is a clone.

The second season 5 trailer leans into Voltron, Marvel’s Namor and Jessica is a lot more involved than she was previously. The third trailer, to put it basically, has all of that, but in the words of Morty himself “this is out there, even for us.” The theme of sticking together as a family has never been stronger, frankly.

Just when you wanted to wrap your head around that, there’s also more content coming. The show will expand the universe with a spin-off series focused on The Vindicators, so how’s that for feeling vindicated about the wait, huh?
It will be a series of shorts released online, with about 8-10 episodes and currently slated to premiere either this year or in 2022. Clearly, the outside world is our enemy if we’re going to be staying in watching all these episodes.
On top of that, there’s a new video game inspired short for your 8-bit or 32-bit or whatever bit is required for that retro look.
Bring on June 20.
