Art Simone has confirmed that staff on RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under lost the footage of her elimination, and she had to reshoot the scene again after knowingly being knocked out of the competition.
“Let’s get to the real tea. I’m going to talk about something that has been haunting my fucking nightmares since the day it happened,” Art told Abbie Chatfield on It’s a Lot Podcast.
“Miss Abbie Chatfield, did you ever watch a show called RuPaul’s Drag race?” Art asked Abbie and she confirmed she did.
“What I want to talk to you about today is having to reshoot your nightmare. The producers came into us at the end and they said ‘Everyone, we’ve got some really bad news…We’re missing a lot of footage from your elimination episode.'”

“And I could tell that they weren’t… that’s the last thing they wanted to tell [me],” she continued.
“So Coco [Jumbo] and I get ready to do the lip sync. All that’s going through my head at that moment is, “Ok, well, I’ve got another chance. I can do even better than this. I was fucking giving like crazy. I was like yes, this is my moment. I can’t get home because I’m coming back, baby.”
Coco, who beat Art is the lip sync competition which caused her to be eliminated, also confirmed the story during an interview on YouTube channel Drag Tea Served with Matt.
“Our reaction the judges was our second time of doing it.”
“They [producers] had messaged me saying they lost the audio, I think it was, so we had to refilm the whole thing together. They sent me a photo of my look, my outfit and got ready like 5 o’clock in the morning and had to shoot that [again].
