In news that genuinely led to a spike in my dopamine levels, bubble tea ice cream is now available at Coles and Woolworths.

The new desserts are courtesy of the beloved Thai dessert brand, Buono. There are two flavours on offer, Thai Tea and Genmaicha (green tea and roasted rice), essentially the two most unbeatable flavours in the dessert canon. Buono blends real brewed tea with their signature, chewy Boru Boru balls.

As if we needed any more convincing, the range is gluten, dairy, artificial colours, artificial flavours, trans fats, preservatives and cholesterol-free. I’m starting to think that god exists and his modus operandi is bringing perfect frozen treats to the masses.

No longer will I feel the crippling shame of spending upwards of $15 getting a single boba tea delivered to my door in a moment of weakness. This has changed everything.

In addition to the two ice-cream tubs, Buono also offer a frozen Mochi ball range, Mochi Iced. Think supple mochi pockets filled with dairy-free frozen dessert. The Mochi Iced come in six perfect flavours,  strawberry, black sesame, vanilla, mango, chocolate and coconut.

In other dessert-adjacent news, Coco Pops and Golden Gaytime recently launched a collaboration that defies all health guidelines and moral reasoning.

It’s a bit of a wife swap situation, there’s now an iteration of the Golden Gaytime ice-cream, which features the treats divine crumble with an undertone of coco pops signature flavour (which is like… vaguelly chocolatey sugar?.)  Whilst the cereal take is pretty much just your classic Coco Pops dish with a hint of honeycomb.
