Bunnings sausage sizzles are back in Victoria which is honestly reason enough to celebrate the end of the latest long lockdown.
In a true sign of returning to some sort of normality, the delicious and iconic meat treat will be available from Saturday, October 30th, after we were all denied eating them for so long due to COVID-19 restrictions.
It comes as the state hits 80% of the population becoming fully vaccinated against the virus, meaning restrictions are able to ease further and retail can finally reopen from Friday, October 29th.
“We’re really excited to be welcoming customers back into our Melbourne stores this weekend as we take the next step along the reopening roadmap,” Mike Schneider, Bunnings managing director said.
“In line with this milestone, the community sausage sizzles will be returning to selected stores in Melbourne this weekend. We know that it’s a tradition that our teams, customers and community groups have really missed, and we hope to have them back up and running at all stores over the next few weeks.”
The selected Melbourne stores in questions are the following: Altona, Port Melbourne, Box Hill, Maribyrnong, Coburg, and Nunawading.
There will of course be a number of COVID protocols still in place to ensure we can all enjoy the snack safely, including separate ordering and pick-up points, increased cleaning, and the requirement for all volunteers to wear a face mask.
“Both our teams and community groups will use their experience of running BBQs on and off throughout the pandemic to ensure that the sizzles run smoothly and adhere to all our COVID-safe measures,” Schneider added.
Stocking up on plants to fill the house just hasn’t been the same without grabbing a sausage sizzle at the same time. Long may the Bunnings classic stay.
