Just when we thought 2020 couldn’t get any wackier, Arnott’s have gone completely rogue by releasing Dark Chocolate Chilli Tim Tams.
That’s right, the beloved treats are set to quite literally blow our socks off with their decidedly spicy new flavour.
The new variety features dark chocolate biscuits sandwiched with a chocolate and chilli flavoured cream and to be honest, I don’t hate the sound of it.
Sadly, but unsurprisingly, these ‘Tams will only be available for a limited time, and will begin hitting the shelves at Woolworths this week.
In a statement (via Lad Bible), Tim Tam Marketing Manager Matt Grant described Chilli Chocolate as the “indulgent” new flavour fans have been craving.
“Aussies love Tim Tam biscuits and although they cherish the classics, they always get fired up for indulgent, new flavours,” he said.
“To bring Dark Choc Chilli to life, we have been expertly crafting with our Master Bakers, the perfect combination of a heat sensation and our decadent, rich dark choc. A hot Tim Tam experience like no other… what more could you wish for?”

Well, I would probably wish for plenty of things Arnott’s, but you’ve got to take what you can get in this day and age.
As a self-proclaimed Tim Tam connoisseur, it is my opinion that recent new additions to the family have been arguably boring, albeit delicious.
Flavours to have been released over the last year include Caramel Cream, Chocolate Orange and Strawberries and Cream.
As tasty as these undeniably were, it seems only fitting that the latest flavour is as wild as this entire year has been.
Personally, I’ll never rest until the criminally underrated Coconut flavour is back on shelves, but I’ll tentatively consider Chilli Chocolate Tim Tams a worthy substitute for now.
