Want to have drumsticks sprinkled with gold? KFC and Nel’s 11-course fine dining experience has got you. Talk about having rich tastes!

It’s time to take the simple burger and fries and make them… classy. KFC is all set to bring us an 11-course degustation – totally did not have to Google what that means – in partnership with Nelly Robinson, chef and owner of Sydney-based Nel.

The specially-created menu will be available only for three days, from April 1st to April 3rd. If the April 1st date doesn’t ring any bells, the menu – which provides a high-end spin on KFC classics – certainly will, although the parties in question assure us that this is not an April Fool’s prank.

On the menu will be potatoes and gravy reimagined, with a gravy candle melting into a pool, enjoyed with a potato bun for dipping. You’ll also be able to enjoy the famous Twisters with pearl-barley pearl-barley risotto, sun-dried tomato, pumpkin and Chicken Tenders.

Oh, and a literal Tongue Twister with chicken, tomato, lettuce and pepper mayo, which will come with a stencil recreation of the likeness of Colonel Sanders. Of course, you’re encouraged to lick it.

You can also treat yourself to Popcorn Chicken with celeriac soup, mushroom gnocchi, basil and a floral garnish. Perhaps the wildest thing on the menu, however, is the spin on KFC’s original drumsticks, which will come sprinkled in gold. Talk about having rich tastes. Wine, of course, is a given.

As of now, the venue for the experience is under wraps, but if you have $75 and a penchant for KFC, you can register your interest here. All profits from the event will be donated to The Black Dog Institute, ReachOut Australia and Whitelion.
