“Making an album is like tearing your soul apart and gluing it back together, but new and improved, with anti-gravity rooms, glitter cannons, lasers and vast canyons of exotic animals,” lead singer Nai Palm says ahead of Hiatus Kaiyote’s upcoming album Choose Your Weapon. The Melbourne soulsters have already received considerable praise from musical legends such as Prince and Erykah Badu for their debut Tawk Tomahawk, which received a Grammy nomination. With a fresh future soul sound offering poetry and polyrhythms, Hiatus Kaiyote are certainly one to watch out for. To be in the running for one of five copies of Choose Your Weapon, set to be released on Friday May 1.
