Having already released a contender for album of the year in Love Letters, Brit four-piece Metronomy are coming our way for Splendour In The Grass 2014 and a Sydney sideshow. Despite pushing a distinctly modern sound, Metronomy’s bandleader Joseph Mount told the BRAG in a recent interview that recording in the vintage-focused Toe Rag Studios in London gave Love Letters a clear direction: “When you are recording in a studio like that with such limitations, you’ve got no choice but to have the vocal perfect … I think in the past I might have tried to hide behind the effects a lot more.” There’ll be no hiding when Metronomy play the Metro Theatre on Monday July 28 with support from Circa Waves, and we’ve got a prize pack to give away including a double pass and a copy of Love Letters on vinyl.
